The Skilled – Independent Visa subclass 175 is a permanent Australia visa.
An applicant must score a passmark of at least 120 in the general skilled migration points test to be eligible to apply.  The subclass 175 skilled visa is an offshore subclass of visa which means applicants must be overseas at the time the visa is granted.
This is a Australia visa for permanent residency and would entitles the holder to live and work anywhere in Australia.  It’s appeal has been diminished by that the fact that the Australian government in 2009 and 2010 has began to focus it’s priority processing on the sponsored skilled visa categories.
